Who We Are

James W. Casparie is the founder and CEO of The Venture Alliance (TVA), a national firm based in Newport Beach, California, that's dedicated to getting companies funded. Jim has been a leading force in the entrepreneurial world for over twenty-five years. He has personally founded, nurtured, advised and/or funded several companies across a variety of industries. In 2001, he founded The Venture Alliance (TVA) – the first and only rating service for private equity investing, and (in 2005) TVA Capital, LLC – an investment bank specializing in early to mid-stage investing. In 2009, TVA partnered with Forbes to use TVA's rating system as a screen to develop and publish a list of "America's Most Promising Companies."

Since 1987, Jim has been the personal advisor to hundreds of top-level exe-cutives across a diverse range of indus-tries. Prior accomplishments include: being co-founder and CEO of the ABL Organization and Executive Director of SoCAL Ten, the two leading networ-king organizations at that time for CEOs of venture backed companies.

Elliot B. Reiff, a 25-year veteran in the areas of fi-
nance,investment banking
and senior management, is a co-founder of TVA and serves as its COO and CFO. Mr. Reiff supervises all financial aspects of TVA, from operations to financial manage-
ment and planning. In addition to his duties at TVA, Elliot also serves as Managing Partner of TVA Capital.


During his career, Mr. Reiff held executive-level positions for 12 years at Geneva Companies, the nation's leading provider of M&A services to middle-market entrepreneurs. Over that period, he served as COO and CFO and was responsible for the origination of new evaluation and M&A clients, averaging over 1,200 new clients per year.




Elliot also acted as Supervising Principal of Geneva's Broker Dealer, managing over 75 registered representatives executing over $1 billion of transactions annually in all industries throughout the U.S. Prior to Geneva, Elliot was a Vice President at boutique investment bank, D.H. Troob & Company, and a Senior Executive at the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agencies.

Elliot received a Master's of Regional Planning from the Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from City College, New York.
